Hi, my name is Trevor Lohrbeer. I’m a serial entrepreneur who is looking for a marketing & operations co-founder for my startup Day Optimizer (DO).

Day Optimizer is a time management web app & planning process that helps solopreneurs create more effective daily plans using neuroscience principles.

With a small base of fans and paying customers, it has the potential with the right partner to grow and change how solopreneurs and others manage their time.

Why I Contacted You

You came up in my planning process as someone who may have useful insights into the process of finding, vetting or retaining a co-founder, beyond the standard advice I’ve already found.

If you are open to a 30-minute call where I can ask you a few more questions, you can book a time on my calendar.

I’m Documenting What I Learn

Years ago a colleague in my last business taught me this:

Approach uncertain projects so that even if you fail, you’ve gained something.

My search may fail. But by documenting my journey, I can share that knowledge with others and help promote those who have helped me along the way.

And by sharing the journey, I also gain valuable feedback on my process and widen the funnel for potential candidates, increasing my chances of success.

How You May Benefit

One way I plan on documenting my journey for others is publishing on YouTube the interviews I do on different aspects of finding the right co-founder and then promoting these through social media and the entrepreneur communities I am in.

If you are interested in giving back to others in this way, I’d like to include you in this effort. To participate, schedule a 30-minute call on my calendar.

If you are willing to talk to me, but don’t want to be recorded, that’s fine too. Just book a time and answer No to the question about recording for YouTube.

My Timeline

I’m targeting Monday, February 14th as the “launch” of my co-founder search.

Since finding a co-founder follows a Conveyor Belt decision pattern, I am using a launch model to gain as much visibility into my search as possible, with the goal to find multiple candidates I can evaluate against each other.

Ideally I’d like to record all the videos before the launch, to get maximum exposure for you and to take time to integrate my learnings before the launch. However, as I expect the search to take 2-3 months at a minimum, if you’re not available until later, I would still appreciate your insights.

About My Search

You can read more about who I am, who I’m looking for and what the opportunity is in this draft two-pager.

I am approaching finding a co-founder in the same way my M&A advisor and I approached selling my last business. I may be with this person for 5-10+ years, so am being deliberate in my search.

I’ve put together this structured process for preparing, finding, vetting and retaining a co-founder. In it, you can also read my situation and why I want a co-founder. I will be updating this and the other assets I am created based on feedback from you and others.
